By age 18, I had 2 years of service industry experience, then 2 years of project management via my college co-op program. These jobs honed my analytical, problem solving, and customer-facing skills, and led me to a high-tech career at IBM, where I designed and marketed critical business solutions for companies like Hershey, Rite Aid, and Safeway. Over my career, I worked for several well-known high-tech firms in addition to IBM, including National Semi/Datachecker, UK-based ICL/Hitachi, Stockholm-based Sweda Int’l, Xerox subsidiary Document Sciences, high tech market researcher Gartner, and the unique consumer/user researcher 1:1 Corporation. In my executive roles I led sales & marketing, product marketing, consulting services, market research, and business operations, always handling major negotiations.
